Status quo of steel structure industry

After the Olympic Games, steel structure buildings have been popularized and continuously developed, steel structures are widely used in buildings, railways, bridges and residences, etc., China's steel structure industry has generally made great progress, but there are still certain problems in the development process, including:

(1) Lack of steel structure professionals

At present, the mainstream of domestic architecture is still reinforced concrete structure, so many designers of large and medium-sized design institutes are still not familiar with steel structure buildings. One of the core technical bottlenecks of steel structure is design, but there are not many domestic steel structure design talents, and project supervision lacks steel structure professional and technical personnel, and the lack of talents limits the promotion of domestic steel structure buildings.

(2) The steel structure has a higher cost

Although China's economic strength has been greatly improved after years of development, we are still in the sequence of developing countries, and the level of economic development is extremely unbalanced. The relatively high cost of steel structure also limits the popularity of steel structure buildings.

(3) The development of steel structure enterprises is unbalanced

China's steel structure industry is characterized by low end steel structure industry concentration is not high, fierce competition, but high-end steel structure production is more difficult, there are not many enterprises, and the concentration is high. At present, there are more than 3,000 steel structure enterprises in China, but most of them are small and medium-sized enterprises with an annual output of less than 10,000 tons, and there are only more than 20 enterprises with an annual output of more than 100,000 tons, and the industry concentration is not high, mainly because the low-end steel structure market entry threshold in the steel structure industry is low, whether it is capital or technical requirements are not too high.
