How to design the second floor?

There are generally four solutions for mezzanine floors, and the following solutions are arranged according to the price from low to high.

1) Plywood; This plan is the most economical and suitable for temporary buildings with low requirements. Its sound insulation and strength are slightly weak, but it is easy to install and uses less materials.

2) Cement fiber board: This type of board has the advantages of higher strength than plywood, shorter installation time, better sound insulation, fire resistance, and load-bearing properties. Suitable for use as a residential floor board. The surface can be leveled with 20-30mm thick cement mortar, then laying the tiles.

3) steel decking floor +cement: This is a very common practice. Generally, 1.0mm thk steel decking + 100-120mm thk concrete. This approach is suitable for most buildings, such as factories, offices, residential buildings, commercial buildings, etc. It has higher load-bearing and strength.

4) ALC board: The thickness of the ALC board is usually 120-150mm. It can be directly laid on the floor steel frame, with simple installation and short time consumption. Its fire resistance, sound insulation, and load-bearing properties are similar to those of traditional concrete, making it suitable for use in commercial, residential, and public buildings.
